WiEReG changes on 10 January 2020: The end of privacy and the need for action in private foundations

Changes to the Beneficial Owner Register Act (Wirtschaftliche Eigentümer Register Gesetz “WiEReG”) will come into force on 10 January 2020. The most drastic change is the possibility of access to the register for everyone. This is not justified especially in the case of family private foundations and would not be necessary pursuant to the EU directive.
