bpv Huegel advised on the sale of a majority stake in the traditional Viennese company WOJNAR to VIVATIS Holding AG

VIVATIS acquires a 74 percent majority stake in WOJNAR and becomes a strategic partner.   

11 June 2021. A bpv Huegel team led by Thomas Lettau advised the family-owned holding company on the sale of its majority stake in the WOJNAR Group and on entering into a strategic partnership with VIVATIS. The sale was carried out by way of a limited auction. Completion of the transaction is expected in the third quarter of 2021.

The bpv Huegel team advised on the transaction structure and provided legal and tax support for the sale process.

The traditional Viennese company WOJNAR has around 560 employees and achieved an annual turnover of around EUR 90m in the past business year. WOJNAR has a broad product range in the fresh and chilled convenience business segment with a strong focus on innovations and development trends (organic, vegan, sustainable and healthy nutrition). “Looking to the future, we are happy to have found VIVATIS as an Austrian partner with shared values and vision.
