Merger Control: Austria introduces transaction value-based notification threshold

The Austrian Parliament has adopted an amendment to the Cartel Act, introducing a transaction value-based notification threshold into Austrian merger control. The new threshold will be applicable in addition to the existing turnover-based test and will significantly broaden the reach of Austrian merger control. The new rules will become effective as of 1 November 2017.

Seminar on current issues in the Austrian Pharmacy Act

On 6 December 2016 and 23 March 2017, Christian F. Schneider, partner at bpv Hügel Vienna, and Anna Walbert-Satek, attorney-at-law at bpv Hügel Vienna, hold seminars on current issues of Austrian pharmacy law (Academy for Law and Taxes), dealing in particular with the changes in the needs test in the authorisation procedure for new pharmacies which were triggered by recent judgments of the ECJ (Cases Sokoll-Seebacher and Naderhirn) and subsequent changes of the Autrian legal framework.

Newly issued: “Handbuch zur Aktiengesellschaft”

Vienna, March 2017.
