bpv Huegel shoring up its presence in the western regions of Austria

23 May 2022. With a view towards Mönchsberg and Fortress Hohensalzburg, bpv Huegel has recently joined the peaks also from a geographical point of view. bpv Huegel has now opened an office in the city of Salzburg and is thus realising its plans to expand further west in order to be best placed to provide advice to existing clients in Salzburg, Upper Austria, and Tyrol as well as in neighbouring Bavaria locally. The move also serves to respond to the increasing demand from clients from this region for international experience and highly specialised advice.

With this additional location, we are completing a further step towards growth in line with our strategy. The region around Salzburg, Upper Austria, Tyrol, and Bavaria is one of the most economically viable centres in Europe and stands likewise for growth and innovation.” says Co-Managing Partner Florian Neumayr.

For bpv Huegel, the strengthening of its focus on the central economic area in the west is not least a matter of playing on home turf: five partners have their roots in Salzburg or Upper Austria, and the service focused on commercial law matters thus benefits not only from personal relations but also from numerous professional and university ties in the region.

The office will be managed by our native Salzburg partner Sonja Dürager, head of the IP/IT/data protection practice group. Sonja will also be responsible for legal seminars as part of our offering. “I am pleased that with our comprehensive expertise and international experience we can now also advise and support clients directly on site in all matters of business law.

In organisational terms, the Salzburg office, which is run as a spoke office, ideally complements the firm’s existing offices in Vienna/Mödling, Baden, Brussels and bpv’s presence in the CEE region.
